Celebrating an Unforgettable Weekend at Latitude Festival 2025 with SMART Recovery

What a weekend! We’re still buzzing after an incredible few days at Latitude Festival 2025, where UK SMART Recovery had the privilege of being part of the vibrant Mind, Body & Zen area. From hosting daily SMART meetings to witnessing unforgettable moments on stage (and in the rain!), it was a truly meaningful and memorable experience.

Daily SMART Meetings in the Recovery Tent

Across the weekend, our fantastic facilitators Emma, Janine, and Jean were on hand in the Recovery Tent, offering daily SMART Recovery meetings and connecting with festivalgoers about recovery from all types of addictive behaviour. We were joined by our wonderful Brand Ambassador, DJ Brandon Block, on Friday. He co-facilitated the meeting, shared his powerful personal journey during the Stories of Hope Q&A on the Zen Stage, and brought his energy to every interaction.

A Surprise Set and a Balanced Festival Life

Despite travel challenges, Brandon managed to squeeze in a surprise DJ set before heading off site, and the crowd absolutely loved it. The spirit of SMART shone throughout the festival. Even when the rain arrived, it couldn’t dampen our energy. We practiced what we preach by embracing balance, making time for both support and celebration.

A Festival to Remember

Our final day saw a great turnout for our last SMART meeting at 1pm, with heartfelt conversations and renewed connections. And what a way to close out the weekend, with the Lionesses’ historic Euro 2025 win! Elbow even held back the start of their set to let everyone watch the thrilling penalty shootout. A magical, collective moment of joy that perfectly capped off a special festival.

Thank You Latitude

We’re incredibly grateful to Latitude Festival for welcoming us into such a vibrant and supportive space. To everyone who stopped by the Recovery Tent, joined a SMART meeting, or simply shared a moment, thank you. These conversations matter, and we were honoured to be part of your festival experience.

We’re already looking forward to doing it all again next year!

London & South East News

Our London & South East Community Coordinator, Colleen Lally, was thrilled to be invited to attend the Slough Turning Point Substance Use Service Open Day.  The event celebrated the successes of Turning Point’s clients and meet people from other local services and representatives from Public Health.  Sarah, a SMART Facilitator, spoke about her journey and how both Turning Point and SMART Recovery helped her achieve abstinence.  Congratulations Sarah on becoming a Peer Mentor.  We at SMART Recovery are so proud of your achievement!
