Volunteer Awards
SMART Recovery’s programme is made possible by the dedication of volunteers across the UK, Ireland, and Isle of Man – from meeting facilitating, to fundraising, to social media campaigns. Every week, they empower people to change their lives and transform the public conversation about recovery and addictive behaviours. So we’re launching the SMART Recovery UK and Ireland Volunteer Recognition Awards again this year to recognise them. Nominations close on 8th June at 17:00 GMT. Get your nomination in before it’s too late! Learn more and nominate someone at https://smartrecovery.org.uk/awards

Yorkshire and the Humber News
Our North East & Yorkshire Community Coordinator, Jeni Langley, had another busy week. She was delighted to visit the teams and attend SMART Meetings at Emerging Futures/CGL in Dewsbury and Barnsley Recovery Steps. A huge thank you to everyone, especially Allen Burton, Michael Close, Alicia Gerrard and Michael Walker for such a warm welcome to Yorkshire!
Jeni was then hugely privileged to attend the beautiful Sheffield Cathedral for the book launch of ‘Women in Recovery Capital Pathways’ on 1st May. It was such an inspirational evening in a wonderful setting and huge thanks to Tracey Ford and Dr David Patton for not only producing a brilliant book but also organising a fabulous event.
