Volunteer Recognition Scheme
Please see below a message from our CEO, Dr Charlie Orton
It’s the end of Volunteer Week 2024 and I write to thank you, as one of our volunteers, for the time and energy you dedicate to being a SMART Recovery volunteer. As a not-for-profit charity we rely enormously on our volunteer workforce to keep going. To keep on providing SMART Recovery mutual aid to as many people as possible completely free at the point of delivery. As we all now, connection and peer support is incredibly important.
There are 12 staff on the payroll but over 150 volunteers like you giving up their own time every week to host mutual aid meetings. bYou have been incredibly generous in providing your time and effort and the whole vUK Team can’t thank you enough for choosing to support SMART Recovery.
In addition to this letter we have been encouraging lots of appreciation of our volunteers by launching our first ever Volunteer Recognition Scheme. We will be very excited to announce the winners at our Volunteer Awards Virtual Ceremony on the 30th September with our Ambassador DJ Brandon Block. Good Luck to all those nominated!
