International Women’s Day
🌟 Celebrating International Women’s Day 2024 with UK SMART Recovery! 🌟
This year, we’re proud to highlight how SMART Recovery inspires inclusion for women across the UK. 💪 Our community is a diverse and empowering space, where women from all walks of life come together to support each other on their recovery journeys. Here’s how we’re making a difference:
👭 Women’s Only Meetings: these meetings provide a safe and welcoming environment for women to share their experiences, challenges, and triumphs without judgment. These meetings are essential within a genderised system which is all too often structured without the unique needs of women in mind, and which inevitably leads to inequality. We provide a space for women to help themselves and each other on their journeys to recovery.
🌱 Empowering Resources: Our 4 point programme helps women with all the stages of their recovery, from the first stages of change to building a balanced life for themselves. SMART Recovery helps women to thrive.
💬 Amplifying Voices: We believe in the power of storytelling. By amplifying women’s voices and experiences, we break down stigma and inspire hope. Every story shared is a testament to resilience and strength. You can read some real life examples of how our Women’s Only meetings provide just this in our other posts.
Join us this International Women’s Day as we celebrate the incredible women in our community and continue our journey towards inclusivity and empowerment. Together, we can make a difference! 💖 Please find below three inspiring stories below. #UKSMARTRecovery #IWD2024 #InspireInclusion #EmpoweringWomen
Board Committee Member, Technical Advisory Committee (voluntary)
SMART Recovery is a self-empowering approach that helps people to achieve independence from addictive and problematic behaviors. Established 30 years ago, SMART meetings (online and in person) are held every week in over 35 countries around the world. We are secular, non-judgmental and believe that there are multiple pathways to recovery from addiction.
In line with our strategic objectives, the SMART Recovery global community has embarked on an ambitious digital transformation journey. To support this the SMART Recovery International (SRI) Board of Directors have established the Technology Advisory Committee (TAC) to assist the Board to fulfil its responsibilities in oversighting the design and achievement of SMART Recovery’s technology utilization.
The person we are seeking will ideally possess knowledge and skills in the following areas:
· Commercialization of digital platforms, services and products
· Advising Boards of Management on digital strategy and digital marketing
· Internal NGO / NFP experience in either Board or Executive capacity
Commitment Includes, participating in bi-monthly TAC Committee meetings. Meetings usually last for 90 minutes. TAC members may offer to contribute additional time and support to SMART Recovery team members for specific projects as agreed.
