We are pleased to announce our new Fundraising and PR Trustee, Gareth Ashton.
Over 22 years of experience in the third sector and media. Gareth joins Smart Recovery UK to help advise on building a strategic fundraising focus and also raising of awareness.
Currently the CEO for Sheffield Hospitals Charity, delivering up and above statutory Government funding for the regions hospitals. Delivering over £2 million of assistance to the regions NHS each year.
On joining Smart Recovery Uk, Gareth said ‘it is humbling to support this inspirational charity, which helps tackle and support challenging issues in society’.
Outside of work Gareth spends his time chasing after his two young children.

Thanks to funds awarded from the P & G fund at the Community Foundation (through Newcastle Building Society), and in partnership with the fabulous charity Anxious Minds https://www.anxiousminds.co.uk/, we are able to launch our new trial project ‘SMART Recovery Extra’.
This funding allows us to offer a minimum of 6 counselling sessions to SMART Meeting participants- COMPLETELY FREE OF CHARGE!!!
