Recovery Walk 2024 – Glasgow
Recovery Walk Scotland is Scotland’s biggest recovery event of the year. Over 2,000 people gathered in support of recovery in Glasgow Green on Saturday 12th October 2024, to honour those we have sadly lost to addiction, to connect with one another, to celebrate and raise awareness of the importance of recovery from addiction. The video from the event can be found below.
DDN Magazine
Please find a copy of the latest version of the DDN Magazine for December and January here. SMART Recovery are mentioned on Page 8. We hope you give it a read.
Donation
We have kindly been donated £1,000 by AFD Software, a software company based on the Isle of Man. On this page you’ll find more information about the astonishingly wide range of charities that have been nominated and supported by their team. Each staff member is entitled to nominate one charity each to receive this donation and we kindly thank Matt for his nomination to UK SMART Recovery.
North East Activities
Our North East and Yorkshire Community Coordinator, Jeni Langley enjoyed a great morning at South Tyneside Council’s ‘A Better U’ Christmas drop-in, held at Cleadon Park Library on Monday. There were festive tunes aplenty with the fabulous Ukulele band, ‘The Dam Jammers’, representatives from all the local organisations and charities mingled with the local community and there were notifications about upcoming local events and important festive period opening times of local services were given out too. There was (as always) some delicious homemade soup on offer…along with a vast selection of mince pies and a wonderful time was had by all! 😊
