Together Coalition

We are pleased to announce that UK SMART Recovery has joined the Together Coalition https://together.org.uk/.

/together is one of the most powerful and diverse coalitions ever assembled in the UK and it is a way of uniting groups committed to action on social cohesion and building stronger communities. Together brings together hundreds of partners – including some of the nation’s best-loved and best-known brands – to build a kinder, closer and more connected society.

What this means for SMART Recovery is that we are visible via the coalition to hundreds of other organisations. They run 2 big campaigns per year and one of them called the Big Help Out encourages volunteering. The Big help Out 2024 was launched in London on the 30^th January and our CEO was invited at attend.

Being a member also means that SMART is able to load all of its volunteering opportunities into the Big Help Out App launching in April 2024. Via this app people can search for volunteering opportunities and it connects us with those people. We will be sharing details of the app in April and encouraging people to use it to find out how they can help us. Volunteer week is in June and over the weekend of the 7-9^th June The Big Help Out is encouraging as many people to volunteer over that weekend as possible. Last year 7 million people joined in!

NE & Yorks News

“Our North East and Yorkshire Community Coordinator, Jeni Langley, was thrilled to be invited along to the latest Recovery Connections South (Darlington, Stockton and Middlesbrough ) Ambassador Programme Graduation Ceremony on Valentine’s Day. The event was a real celebration of the hard work and dedication of all the graduates over the 12-week course and included some inspiring speeches and updates of how the ambassadors get involved with each site. Several of the Ambassadors have already applied for and/or begun the SMART Recovery Facilitator Training course too!
