Veterans SMART Recovery in England
We are pleased to announce that the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust has awarded UK SMART Recovery with funding to roll out the Veterans Programme across England. The funding lasts for 3 years and enables us to employ Janine Crowdy full time as our Veterans Programme Lead for England. Janine will be working closely alongside Johnny Allison who is the Programme Lead for Scotland. The grant is from the Reaching and Supporting Armed Forces Communities fund. Janine will work with organisations who want to commission the programme and will support facilitators in their role. The aim is to get the programme which has been developed by military veterans, has its own training module and bespoke publication – a SMART veteran note book to be used in services across England. It can be commissioned all over England by organisations who provide services to veterans. In addition, we will develop a peer led volunteer community for facilitators and this will include a Family & Friends Programme. In addition, a women’s only service will be created and provided. Evaluation of impact and effectiveness is key to the success of this and as such we are keen to use surveys and other assessments to prove that SMART Recovery works. UK SMART Recovery is proud to be funded by and work with the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust. If you would like to know more about how to licence this programme for your service please contact Janine directly.
